Chengdu International Medical Town begins phase three

A commencement ceremony for the third phase of Chengdu International Medical Town project was held in Yongning county of Chengdu's Wenjiang district on June 16.
The third phase of the project, covering an area of 111.7 mu and total floor area of 197,000 square meters, is located in Zone B of Chengdu's International Medical Town. It will house an incubation area and services area for R&D, business incubation, working spaces, and conferences.
With an investment of nearly 1.3 billion yuan ($191 million), the facility is expected to be operational as a bio-medical innovation center in western China by June 2018, focusing on pushing forward bio-medicine development, modern Chinese medicine, innovative chemicals, medical equipment, and health management services.
The medical town aims to construct a platform to promote technology, finance, informatization, human resources and administrative affairs, integrating healthcare, medicine and medical treatment, and covering a total area of 41.15 square meters combining zone A and B.
After the completion of phase three, Chengdu International Medical Town will also become an incubator for healthcare startups and other innovative medical enterprises.
