The 96th China Food and Drinks Fair will be held in Chengdu from March 23-25, according to information released at the fair’s preliminary meeting.
This year’s fair is expected to be richer in content than previous year’s events, with approximately 3,000 enterprises participating. Food and drink products from over 40 countries and regions will be available during the fair divided into different areas throughout the exhibition center, including alcohol, food, spices and food packaging.
More than 20 activities themed around “Display, Communication and Cooperation” will also be held during the fair, in addition to forums and an industrial financial conference promoting the food industry. Representatives from over 100 investment and financial companies have been invited to join the conference.
A real-name system has been employed to vet applicants exhibiting at the fair, ensuring the safety of food and trade orders.
Ticket prices for the first day of fair have been increased from 20 yuan ($2.89) to 100 yuan this year, while subsequent days’ tickets will remain at the 20 yuan price.
“Increasing the first day’s entrance ticket price is not to make more money, instead, it’s to shunt visitors and improve the fair environment,” said Gu Ping, an official from the country’s food and drinks office.
