Cage-weaving competition held to prevent flooding

To prevent flooding in Wenjiang's Shou'an town, authorities there arranged a bamboo cage weaving competition on June 28.

People from 15 villages took part in the event, which involved making five-meter-long cages with a 70-centimeter diameter. The event was a chance to showcase the traditional craftsmanship skills of locals. The cages will be deployed in areas prone to flooding after being filled with rocks.
