Czech Consulate General to open in Chengdu

The Czech Republic plans to open a Consulate General in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China’s Sichuan province, in September, Chengdu’s foreign affairs office announced on July 14.
It will be Czech Republic’s second Consulate General in China, following the one in Shanghai. Its news consular area will cover Sichuan province and neighboring Guizhou, Yunnan and Chongqing.
The friendship between Czech Republic and Chengdu has grown deeper in recent years. Every year, Czech Republic sends delegations to attend the Western China International Fair held in Chengdu. The two sides cooperate on a number of major projects. A direct flight service between Prague, capital of Czech Republic and Chengdu will also commence by the end of 2015.
