The Floraland Leisure Zone in Wenjiang district in Chengdu, Sichuan province, will soon have a new healthcare center, the Wenjiang News reported.
The Chengdu Floraland Tourism Investment Co and International Gospel League Corporation (IGL), a leader in Japanese health care industry, recently signed a cooperation agreement to build a healthcare center, which will cost at least 1 billion yuan ($160 million).
The project will be built between the Floraland Animal and Plant Kingdoms and the Floraland Sports Theme Park, covering a vast area of 100,000 square meters.
The center will consist of a comprehensive hospital and an elderly community center. The hospital will be built and managed in accordance with the requirements by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital is expected to see an average of 150,000 patients each year.
The elderly community will be composed of a healthy food center, college for the elderly where they can gain some basic knowledge of Chinese traditional medicine, musical instruments and paining, for example, treatment-planning center, management center and a 26,700-square meter garden. Upon its completion, the community will provide about 1,200 senior citizens with high-quality healthcare, entertainment and elderly daily care services.
The Japanese partner, IGL, an experienced operator of nursery schools, healthcare institutions and senior centers, will provide professional assistance in construction planning, personnel training, management and daily care services.
The construction of the Floraland Health Care Center is conducive to both balancing out the medical resources distribution and coping with the issue of ageing population in Wenjiang district and even in Chengdu. Moreover, the project will create 700 job positions, which will help improve the local employment situation.
