Zhang graduated from the School of Art, the Chengdu Normal College, in 2012. After working in a decoration company for several months, she decided to quit and set up her own wall-painting studio.
“The first step is always the hardest. Finding clients and orders was difficult at that time. In addition, I had to take measurements of the rooms, design the patterns, buy high-quality paints and paint it all by myself,” said Zhang, adding, “but I felt fulfilled every time I finished my creations and got praised by my customers. It’s not about money, but more about my passion for arts.”

Zhang’s novel idea and good painting skills have attracted attention of more and more clients. In the face of increasing volume of orders, she ended up employing 12 students from her school and gave them training on interior design and painting techniques.
“Our work is reciprocal: they help me finish customer orders faster and I give them the chance to gain some experience and make money. Wall-painting requires much labor, but we will carry on, so that more people in Sichuan or even the whole Southwest China could learn its beauty and charm,” said Zhang while painting for a client in an apartment in Wenjiang.
