4-year-old boy comes second among 1,000 planking in Chengdu

A plank competition was held in Sichuan Tourism College in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, on April 26. 1,000 people took part in the challenging contest.

The participants aged 4 to 65 and from all walks of life included students, doctors, businessmen and retired workers.
Mai Silong, a 27-year-old man from Jinniu district in Chengdu city, won the competition, planking for an hour. The second prize surprisingly went to a 4-year-old boy, Wang Haoyu, who maintained the plank position for an incredible 48 minutes.

The plank, or front hold, is a popular strength exercise these days since it requires no equipment, but can efficiently strengthen the abdominals, back and shoulders.
