Wenjiang ran a safety test on all the 31 registered school buses within the district on March 7 and enhanced drivers’ safety education.
Officials from the local education bureau as well as traffic policemen worked together to check the braking systems, pressure monitoring systems, lighting systems and tires, making sure they were all in good working condition.
In addition, they examined the safety equipment in the buses such as the emergency hammers and fire extinguishers. If and when any deficiencies were found, the inspectors asked the bus owners to supply the missing or defective parts as soon as possible.
Wenjiang’s education bureau require school bus managers and their drivers to pay careful attention to bus safety, regularly maintaining the vehicles and strictly complying with traffic regulations, so as to guarantee a safe journey for local students.
