Strawberries are in season these days. The strawberry picking in Mingguang Strawberry Farm, located in Wenjiang district in Chengdu, Sichuan province, has become a good weekend tour destination for Chengdu residents.
The strawberry farm covers 18,700 square meters and has 30 greenhouses. All the strawberry plantlets were transported by air from Zhejiang province, the best strawberry growing area in China, and cultivated by specialists from Zhejiang too.
The strawberries on the farm are ripe now and the output of this season is estimated to exceed 15,000 kilograms. “The best season to pick strawberries is from December to March. We welcome tourists to come to our farm to pick their own strawberries,” said Liu Heng, owner of the Mingguang Strawberry Farm.
In addition to picking, tourists can buy potted plant strawberries. Watered every eight to nine days, they can grow about 50 strawberries during the ripening season.
