Women in Wenjiang learn about breast cancer

Sichuan Women's Federation organized a lecture titled "Know More About Breast Cancer" in the Huimin Community in Wenjiang district on Dec 12. Women in the community attended the lecture and gained some basic prevention and treatment knowledge about the disease.

Huang Junhua, head of the breast and thyroid surgery department of the Chengdu No 5 People's Hospital, was invited to give the lecture. He outlined his clinical experience and explained to those present how to prevent and detect breast cancer. After the lecture, doctor Huang gave them a free examination. In addition, volunteers handed out brochures about the disease.

Director of the women's federation appealed to residents to have regular physical examinations to ensure early prevention, identification and treatment.

The lecture had been held in the Wenquan Community and Chengwu Community in the district before it came to the Huimin Community. Altogether more than 800 women have attended the lectures and learned more about breast cancer.
