National Day holiday brings Wenjiang tourism revenues of $16m

Wenjiang district in the city of Chengdu saw more than 1 million tourists from China and abroad come for a visit during the week-long National Day holiday and bring in more than 100 million yuan ($16 million) in revenues, a 28.5-percent increase year-on-year.
During this year’s golden week, three features highlighted Wenjiang’s tourism industry.
First, several museums in Wenjiang, including the Wenjiang Museum, Teddy Bear Museum, Longteng Hotpot Museum, and Raidy Boer Dress Culture Museum, have been opening for free or at a preferential price from Oct 1 to 14. In addition, visitors can participate in various activities held at those museums during this period.

Third, enriching local tourism products in Wenjiang, the first theme park allowing entrance to pets in southwestern China – Floraland Pet Paradise – opened to the public on Oct 1, and has become a hot new tourism destination. Meanwhile, hotels in Wenjiang have been launching promotions, offering tourists a more affordable trip.

Thanks to security precautions, no accidents occurred in the tourist attractions in Wenjiang during the golden week.
