Experience LOHAS in Shou'an

Ride a bike along the lake, visit historical sites and enjoy beautiful flowers. In Xicun Ecological Tourist Zone in Shou'an, Wenjiang, in the city of Chengdu, you can experience lifestyles of health and sustainability (LOHAS) every day.

Xicun Ecological Tourist Zone is an ecotourism demonstration site in Sichuan province covering Shou'an town – a historical and cultural town, Yufu cultural village – a village influenced by ancient Shu culture, a wetland area, and some villages that are skilled in bonsai making.

In addition, Xicun Ecological Tourist Zone enjoys a rich humanitarian history. Several historical sites and officially protected monuments and sites can be seen in the zone. Various folk-customs are well preserved here such as Weigu (a traditional performing form of Sichuan Opera), Pidengying (shadow puppet), and Ganchang (fair).

Food in the zone is also attractive. The local food is famous for its strong flavor such as Jiaomaji (spiced chicken with chili sauce) and Sutang (crunchy candy). Soybean sauce in Shou'an town also enjoys a good reputation.

Moreover, Banyan Tree, the leading international boutique resort and spa operator, is planning to build a commerce and resort complex in Shou'an town, which will cover about 350,000 square meters.
