The construction of Bayi International Furniture Expo, one of the key projects in Wenjiang, is going smoothly. With 6.5 billion yuan ($1.04 billion) in total investment, the expo covers an area of 1 million square meters, including both ground and underground areas. The project has three phases of construction: a furniture and lifestyle pavilion; a wholesales market; and a commercial complex that integrates shopping, entertainment, leisure activities and cultural experience.
At present, phase one, the furniture pavilion, is going well. Building No 3, which displays interior decoration products such as lighting, has been capped. Now it is attracting investments.
The expo will discard the traditional model of selling and adopt a "one-stop" model of consumption. The new model integrates individual purchases into one-time procurement and provides comprehensive services so that consumers only have to make one decision for an entire house's decoration.
What is most attractive about the project is the display of more than 1,000 showrooms. The expo organizer gathered the information about the most popular size and layout of urban apartments in Southwest China in advance. More than half of the showrooms are designed to cover between 70 square meters and 110 square meters, the most popular sizes, in order to better accommodate the needs of consumers. In addition, more than 300 enterprises of interior decoration across the globe are invited to decorate more than 1,000 showrooms of different size and style.
