Ever since its establishment in 1939, Hsin Chong Construction Group has been focusing on the construction industry. After Wang took control of this time-honored enterprise in 2008, he made full use of its traditional advantages and continued to expand its operation in the field of construction. In the fields of building and real estate operation, Hsin Chong strived to construct new schoolhouses for many universities in Hong Kong, hospitals and data centers equipped with first-rate facilities, world-class hotels and commercial buildings, and large-scale residential projects, etc.

Representative projects include: the new classroom building for the City University of Hong Kong, Morningside College and S.H. Ho College for the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the teaching and administrative building for Hong Kong Baptist University, the reconstruction (phase Ⅲ contract) of the Hong Kong Sports Institute, the Shek Mun HSBC Building, Prince of Wales Hospital – the main inpatient building and trauma center, public housing in Sha Tin 4C area, the commercial project of 28 Hennessy Road, public housing development project in Choi Wan Road, etc.

As a doctor, Wang gave play to his ability of accurately observing policies and trends. He said, “Since the Hong Kong higher education system has changed, universities have to construct new schoolhouses to meet the needs of more students. In this regard, we have assembled a specialized team to investigate the needs of university buildings, and finally, we obtained the extension project order from six out of the nine Hong Kong universities.”

Hsin Chong is not only good at construction but also at management. Synergis Holdings Ltd, a subordinate of Hsin Chong Construction Group, is the only real estate service company (stock code: 2340) listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong because of its outstanding service. Synergis Holdings Ltd has been providing property and facility management services for 35 years, and its business covers cities like Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Qingdao, Harbin, etc. At present, the group employs over 6,000 professional workers, and is carrying out streamlined and specialized management on about 300 projects.

Another big step forward of Wang in Hsin Chong is the establishment of the “Real Estate Development Department”, which is comprised of top-notch professionals. They have participated in the development of various landmark projects in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China. Wang is farsighted and appoints people by their abilities; he focuses his effort on the expansion in the promising mainland market. In fact, in his early years, Wang had reaped a lot from the mainland’s real estate market, with the famous Shanghai Xintiandi being one of his projects. “When I was constructing Xintiandi in Shanghai, we had obtained much land, and hence we could divide the project into phase Ⅰ, phase Ⅱand phase Ⅲ. Back then, houses in Xintiandi were sold for $2000/m2, but now it is $25,000/m2.”

As for the future development of Hsin Chong, Wang had it planned out long ago. Apart from the traditional house building, civil engineering and electromechanical engineering, real estate development department and property management are also developing. As Wang put it, Hsin Chong will “develop along three lines”.
