Mr Robert Eu ("余义生"), chairman and executive director of Eu Yan Sang International Limited ("EYSI", "the Group" or "余仁生国际企业"), has been conferred the Chinese Business Leaders Annual Award for 2014. He is the only Singapore business leader amongst 10 awardees comprising business leaders of enterprises in China and overseas.
On receiving the honor, Mr Eu commented, "It is a great honor to be held in regards by the judging panel and organizers and to receive this award. I am particularly humbled to be the only recipient representing a Singapore enterprise among the winners this year."
Held in Beijing this evening, Mr Eu received this award in an elaborate award presentation ceremony which was recorded by the Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings Ltd ("Phoenix Television"). Apart from delivering a thank you speech upon receiving the award, the award recipients also interacted with the audience through question and answer sessions to share their wisdom.
In his speech and answers in the Q&A session, Mr Eu shared with the audience the impact and significance of 2014 on him personally as well as on EYSI. The Group has crossed its 135th year milestone and has made further inroads into China and other new markets such as Australia. 2014 also marks the year in which EYSI launched the concept of healthy yet tasty eating in Shanghai, called REMEDY 365, an innovative combination to bring health-maintenance through food to busy working consumers. In the Shanghai-based REMEDY 365 café, the Group aligned with "Teach for China" to support the sending of teachers to rural communities in western Yunnan and in Chaozhou and Shantou districts of Guangdong. Mr Eu added, "Apart from being a special achievement for me, this award has also lifted Eu Yan Sang to a global stage among giants, companies and brands which are far larger and more well-known in China."
