An internationally-accredited Alpha base station stole the limelight at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Shanghai between June 28 and July 1 due to its portability and its outstanding outdoor signal overage.
It has been developed by Beijing SENSORO Technology, a domestic pioneer in outdoor Internet of Things (IoT) application. It is located in Zhongguancun Science Park, a technology hub in Beijing.
The product is designed to support and connect thousands of nodes into the IoT WAN. It features ultra-long traveling distance wireless signal that it transmits while creating a circle signal network with radius reaching up to 10 kilometers.

According to a project leader, their product even has the function and ability to conduct city-level deployment when required. Meanwhile, the entire equipment set can be packed in a small black suitcase, making it easy to carry around and install.
"It takes no more than 20 minutes to set it up, and less than three hours to construct the cloud system and the massive IoT data network," said a company representative.
The product was awarded the Red Dot Award and International Design Excellence Awards, two prestigious prizes in the industry.
Earlier this year, the company used IoT technology to help build an intelligent firefighting alarm system for the Nanjing government, the first of such case in China.
China anticipates a broad prospect of IoT market and will take strides in pushing it ahead, said an analyst.
The global IoT market is going to experience a rapid growth and reach $1.46 trillion by 2020, according to International Data Corporation, a market intelligence provider.
