Zhongguancun subdistrict opened its first Internet Plus class in Beijing to share high-quality learning resources with local residents and promote community education.
Zhongguancun subdistrict, located in the core area of Zhongguancun Science Park, includes many high-tech research institutes and top Chinese universities, such as the China Academy of Space Technology, Peking University, and Tsinghua University.
To use the intelligent resources in the area, the 30 activity centers created community classes, ranging from archaeology to aerodynamics. Now they have launched online classes so residents can take the courses at home.
"The former courses were a bit rigid and were difficult for some people to attend," said one Zhongguancun subdistrict official.
To solve the problem, the Zhongguancun class analyzes the attendance and requirements of people of different ages using big data to adjust the contents and frequency of courses.
"The internet helps us to better meet people's requirements and provide better public service," said the official.
