Qihoo 360 Technology, China's biggest internet security company, was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission to lead the setup of national engineering projects for big data collaboration safety technology on Feb 23.
The projects will focus on the research and development of technologies relating to privacy protection, data leaks, vulnerability analysis, safety collaboration analysis, risk estimation and safety monitoring.
This aims to strengthen big data safety analysis and big data safety protection, building a platform for developing big data safety technology and solving problems like data safety, safety monitoring, warnings and treatment.
The company will also cooperate with Peking University to explore ways of applying the technology in different industries through establishing five platforms for big data pretreatment technology, data mining technology, visibility analysis, intelligent knowledge management, and decision support systems.
Since its establishment in 2014, Qihoo 360 has become the number one provider of internet and mobile security products in China. It provides users with secure access points to the internet via its web browsers and app stores.
