Zhou Hongyi graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University with a master's degree. In 1998, he established "3721", a company that was later acquired by Yahoo. Subsequently, Zhou Hongyi was appointed president of Yahoo China. He soon after joined the International Data Group (IDG) and became one of the most active investors, pooling money in Thunder, Discuz, cool dog, Flint, Nora, fast travel and other start-up companies.
