The Beijing Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) was established in December 2013 as a non-profit association, with headquarters in Beijing and backed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission. It consists of enterprises and organizations in fields of R&D and manufacturing of photovoltaic (PV) products and applications. It has legal person approved by the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau's Group Management Office of and help from the Beijing Agriculture Bureau.
It major goals are: collecting, sorting, and analyzing market trends, global PV developments and policies; helping members with marketing strategies and development program; investigating and researching information on industry development and providing the government with suggestions on PV industrial planning, policies and standards; strengthening horizontal ties; coordination problems in production and operations; competition and regulations, improving management in the industry; providing consulting on global operations and markets; organizing discussions and interaction; product quality and services monitoring; training professionals to improve their management level; and undertaking government and other organization’s affairs and bridging the gap between government and members.
To establish a better PV industrial chain and a healthier, more mature Chinese market and to protect the interests of members, SEIA encourages more colleagues and any enterprises or individuals, engaged in, or wanting to join the PV industry. After an approval process, they can become full members and enjoy all the advantages and activities SEIA has to offer, including exchanges, training, international cooperation, and access to authoritative sources. SEIA’s goal is the integration and sharing of resources and increasing communications between government and enterprises in the PV industry, as well as countries, to improve industry competitiveness.
