From April 1, the high-speed train schedule from Hefei in Anhui province, to Guangzhou in Guangdong province will be changed from running every other day to a daily basis, making it more convenient for tourists.
The railway bureau announced that from April 1 train schedules G278 / 5 – from Qingdao to Guangzhou South – and G279 – from Jinan West to Guangzhou South – will be changed from operating every other day to a daily basis.
From April 2, the returning trains (train schedules G276/ 7 from Guangzhou South to Qingdao, and G280 from Guangzhou South to Jinan West) will be changed to a daily basis as well.
Both train routes stop at Hefei, enabling Hefei Railway Station to have two high-speed train schedules to Guangzhou South every day.
The high-speed train journey from Hefei to Guangzhou South takes about seven hours, 13 hours less than using the fast train. As for tickets, a first-class one-way ticket from Hefei to Guangzhou South is 866 yuan ($139) while a second-class ticket costs 567.5 yuan.
