The 1.5 billion yuan ($0.24 billion) investment project of the Chizhou city pier in Anhui province has just been launched in the industrial zone of the Southern Wanjiang River, as have the touring car base project and the Jiuhua River Landscape Corridor project.

The industrial concentration zone of the Southern Wanjiang River has traditionally focused on high tech projects, but this year it is also planning to tap into the rich cultural tourism resources of Chizhou city.

It is planned to make the Jiuhua River Landscape Corridor a natural boundary of the Jiuhua Mountain, the industrial concentration zone and the urban area. 2.5 billion yuan ($0.41 billion) has been invested and the project is expected to help free navigation among all the waterwaysof central Chizhou city. During the Spring Festival vacation, Jiuhua Mountain received higher tourism revenues than all other scenic spots in Anhui province, including the Huangshan Mountain.

A tourist pier project has just been launched in Chizhou Port, which includes one luxurious ferry berth, one ordinary ferry berth and other facilities such as fancy hotels. In addition, a 0.5 billion yuan ($81.2 million) boutique holiday resort themed on touring cars is to be built in the area. It will help to form several traveling routes for touring cars.

The development in tourism projects is also highly helpful in promoting industry investment and people's living standards. A healthy development in tourism manifests Chizhou's sense of people's orientation. It is the government's goal to transform Chizhou into an ecological industrial city that is suitable for living, working and traveling.
