The third China Liukaiqu Award International Sculpture Exhibition kicked off Saturday October 26 in Wuhu city in east China's Anhui province.
The exhibition at the Wuhu Sculpture Park is showing 36 pieces that have won the Liu Kaiqu Award, named after Liu Kaiqu, a famous Chinese sculptor and art educator.
They were selected from more than 2,000 pieces submitted by some 500 artists from 43 countries and regions.
The golden award went to "Chinese Dream," crafted by Chinese artist Li He.
"The competition's theme is humanity and ecology. We encouraged artists to create through new thinking," said Zeng Chenggang, chairman of the China Sculpture Institute.
