Sixth annual Huangshan Valentine Festival to be held
Updated: 2012-08-08

A news conference for the sixth Chinese Huangshan Valentine Festival was held at the Roying Hotel in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province on July 23, 2012. Officials of Huangshan Mountain district, Tangkou county, and heads of the Jade Valley Tourist Co. were present at the conference.

Zhu Min, deputy head of Huangshan Mountain district, delivered an opening speech at the conference. Head of Tangkou county, Chen Chunhui, introduced local tourist resources, and director of the Tourist Committee, Wang Shiyou, answered questions from the press.

People in charge of scenic spots in Shancha village and Jade Valley gave briefings on the area's 25 years of development and travel itineraries. Afterwards, they signed cooperation agreements with the Wuhan-headquartered China International Travel Service (CITS). In the end, Huangshan Mountain's first micromovie "Because of Love" premiered at the conference.

More than 30 media outlets and major tourist agencies also attended the conference. Thousands of netizens witnessed the whole event through Sina’s weibo microblog.

The Chinese Valentine's Day, also called the "Double Seventh" (Qixi in Chinese), falls on the seventh day of the seventh month in the Chinese lunar calendar, August 23 this year.

Sponsored by the People's Government of Huangshan Mountain district, the sixth Chinese Huangshan Valentine Festival will kick off on August 23, 2012. It is the Double Seventh Day and the 25th anniversary of Jade Valley's opening to the public. On that day, the micromovie "Because of Love" will debut. People can also experience an Anhui traditional marriage ceremony there.

In the evening, a huge party themed "Jade Valley, the Way to Love" will have a lottery contest and donate funds to school children. Two days before the event, a fashion and make-up show will be held at Jade Valley, showcasing Chinese love in the form of cosplay.
