Wax museum for a late political figure to open
Updated: 2012-07-25

The opening ceremony of a renovated wax museum for a renowned historical figure will be put off to July 25 from Tuesday, due to unfavorable weather, sources said.

The museum, home to a wax statue of Bao Zheng, a much-praised official who was born in Hefei, capital of Anhui province, during the Song Dynasty (AD 960-1279), has been closed for renovation since May, as two nearby 100-year-old trees pose a threat to the safety of the building, according to staff members of the Baogong Park, where the museum is located.

By means of special technologies, the museum will make enough room for those big trees after revamp.

Though the museum has been closed for months, visitors can still see the wax figures in pictures displayed outside the park.
