Tuo Lake Wetland Nature Reserve

Tuo Lake Wetland Nature Reserve

Situated in Wuhe County of Bengbu, the nature reserve is 3.5 km from the county seat. It abuts the National Highway No. 104 in the east and the Provincial Highway No.304 in the south. With an area of over 70 square km, it is a famous tourist destination in North Anhui.

The lake is divided into three parts: the dock area in the southern part, the entertainment and sports area in the northern shallow reed lake, and the romantic shallow lotus lake in the western part. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque scenery which varies through the seasons: the slender willow branches gently sweeping the water in spring; the blooming lotus flowers filling the lake in summer; the reed catkins dancing in the air in autumn; and water and sky merging into one in winter. Tuohu Lake teems with aquatic products, such as mandarin fish, carps, silver carps and Chinese mitten crabs. Based on the unique natural landscapes and rich products, the local people have developed various tourism activities for visitors, such as doing the works of fishermen, and eating and lodging in fishermen's houses.
