With the theme "Green Shaanxi: Starting point of the Silk Road", Shaanxi week will be held in the China Pavilion of the Exposition Park from July 27 to 29, 2017, incorporating a series of activities fully embodying Chinese elements and Shaanxi’s characteristics, including: Shaanxi Week opening ceremony, delicacy savoring, energy display and promotion, intangible heritage exhibition, art performance, tourism promotion, tour activity, and promotional product and souvenir giveaways. Outside the World Expo Park, a number of negotiation meetings for project promotion will be launched in Kazakhstan in order to expand publicity of the event and further promote exchanges and cooperation. As one of the important activities in China Pavilion, the Qin Terra Cotta Warriors Historical Relic Exhibition will also be held during the Expo.

1. Themed "Green Shaanxi，Starting point of the Silk Road", highlighting Shaanxi's characteristics, envisioning energy prospects.

Shaanxi week adopts "Green Shaanxi，Starting point of the Silk Road" as the theme, both highlighting Shaanxi's status as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and its significance in the Belt and Road Initiative. On the other hand, "Green Shaanxi" emphasizes Shaanxi's vision to actively explore the development and utilization of energy resources, thus forging a future energy system. A small-scale of parade filled with Chinese elements and Shaanxi's features will take place near the China Pavilion during the week. At the ceremony, greeters will wear clothing of the prosperous Tang Dynasty (618-907), and artistic performances featuring distinctive Shaanxi characteristics will be presented to show the spirit of Silk Road and scenes of prosperous times in ancient Chang'an city. The logo of the activity is the combination of a map of Shaanxi and the Terracotta Army, which has been exclusively designed to highlight the theme.

2. Displaying Shaanxi's energy development achievements in all fields and strengthening promotion through concerted efforts with enterprises.

Shaanxi is China's significant energy and chemistry industry base, with remarkable accomplishments made in traditional energy, new energy and exchanges and cooperation. During the World Expo, Shaanxi province will display its energy development conditions in keeping with its "Source Power of the Silk Road" theme, such as traditional energy development and new energy innovation. International achievements in energy exchanges will also be highlighted, consisting of three sections: Green Shaanxi - development power source, Innovative Shaanxi - new energy power, and Open Shaanxi - the Silk Road source power. A hand-painted long scroll of future energy will be set in the queue area to attract visitors to participate in the activities. At the same time, the second and third day of the event week will witness activities promoting Shaanxi energy, in which excellent energy enterprises in Shaanxi, Kazakhstan and global partners will be invited to participate, thus making full use of the World Expo platform to introduce Shaanxi energy.

3. Fully showcasing Shaanxi's cultural charm by tourism promotion, delicacy savoring and intangible heritage exhibition.

Through the "Pleasant Journey in Shaanxi" tourism promotional meeting, Shaanxi Week will present the province's natural scenery and historical attractions to tourists around the world, rendering a deep understanding of Shaanxi's profound history, splendid culture and beautiful landscape. The delicacy savoring activity, in the form of a Western-style buffet, will focus on offering Shaanxi's renowned cuisines including special snacks and delicate dim sums, so that guests can savor Shaanxi's special delicacies and experience its cultural charm. This activity will set an opening ceremony with Shaanxi characteristics, combined with various dishes, providing guests with a flavorful cultural feast.

The exhibition stage for intangible heritage in the China Pavilion will display Shaanxi's treasured heritages including ladle facial mask, shadow puppetry and tea art presentation, displaying the long historical and cultural features of Shaanxi.
