She may be a few years off hanging up her broomstick, but life outside Hogwarts is already shaping up nicely for Emma Watson.

The Harry Potter star, who was catapulted to fame when she took the role of Hermione at just 9, is starring in a new BBC production, Ballet Shoes.

Leading lady: Emma plays the part of orphaned Pauline Fossil

In the feature-length film, set in 1930s London, Emma plays the part of orphaned Pauline Fossil, who is adopted by an eccentric explorer, played by Richard Griffiths.

While the young actress says she couldn't pass up the "amazing project," she has revealed she occasionally craves a normal teenage life away from the spotlight.

She told the Daily Telegraph: "I'm not the girl they get the number 19 bus into town with to grab a coffee."
