Beijing's latest high-end living concept "Green Technology Changes Life", was unveiled at a press conference on April 2 by MOMA•Lifeng in the nation’s capital. The project was launched by the Dangdai Group and was designed by highly acclaimed American architect Steven Holl.

Officials, experts and professionals from China’s mainstream media attended last week’s press conference and shared their views about the future of China’s real estate development, along with the concept of what a“green lifestyle” really means.

As a high-end living development, MOMA•Lifeng’s specialty doesn’t merely exist within its prime location (Dongzhi Gate) or its luxurious refurbishments, but also within its “green concept”. "Green means energy-saving and comfortable", said a MOMA spokesman.

Given China’s serious environmental pollution problems, people today are more eager to create a healthier lifestyle for themselves, and it has been this exact concept that MOMA• Lifeng has been striving to achieve for the past ten years. The new living development utilizes the most advanced home technology, including an air-conditioning system that can ensure a constant indoor temperature of 20℃ to 26℃ and relative humidity between 30% and 70%. The homes also come with a noise control system which maintains a noise level below 45 decibels.

Chief consultant of urban design at the UN Development Program Erickson Michael John was also in attendance at the press conference. While speaking about the necessity of developing green technology in Beijing he said, “The population is so large and the resources are so small, so we need to manage this better.”

Other than high-tech features, MOMA also provides its residents with supplementary facilities such as the Broadway Theater, the first art-house movie theatre established in mainland China. The living area also has a bilingual kindergarten making MOMA a top choice among foreign families living in Beijing.
