Unusual homework is washing feet

It's a hard task to accomplish for today's teenagers: wash your parents' feet to express gratitude to parents in China's traditional culture.

The realistic drama Unusual Homework, staged at the China Children's Art Theater in September, is an attempt to make a change. Veteran director Liao Xianghong from China's Central Academy of Drama helms the production in the hope of teaching a relaxing lesson about giving back.

The script of Unusual Homework is the winner of the China Children's Art Theater's recent contest, which received 200 script submissions by young playwrights from around China.
