Zhang Ziyi's new movie Mulan releases poster

The first poster for the Hollywood-made Chinese folk story "Mulan" has been released.

The name of the film will be called "Mulan, the Legend of a Woman Warrior" ("Jin Guo Ying Xiong"). The face of the heroine Hua Mulan, played by Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, features on the left of the poster. And a perspective of a war field is on the right, indicating it's a story about war.

The film is adapted from a famous Chinese folk story dating back in the 6th century. It tells of a young woman who replaces her father to fight in the all-male army. The story was put on the big screen by Disney in an animated version in 1998, which made it famous worldwide. And in 2009, a Chinese-language version of the story was released with actress Zhao Wei starring as the lead character Hua Mulan.

Now the story will be brought back to the big screen again in 3-D. "Speed" director Jan de Bont will create an English-language version. Apart from actress Zhang Ziyi, details about the cast have yet to be announced.
