Joy of a holistic workout

Improve physical, mental and emotional wellness with some suggestions from Harish Gurjar.

Holistic fitness is the concept of exercising to connect body, mind and soul in a way unlike any other form of workout. It is for those who choose to live a more balanced lifestyle.

The body is not necessarily the main focus in holistic fitness, which addresses all facets, not just the muscular strength and endurance. Exercise patience and always appreciate what you have accomplished as you move up the ladder to health and well-being.

Here are just a few basic guidelines to help you start your holistic fitness plan.

Meditation walk:First, pay attention to your posture and the touch sensations of the feet at the start of the walking track. This makes you more aware of your environment. Although it is particularly beneficial to walk outdoors, you can do this meditation exercise "pacing" indoors in a small area. Do this every day at the same time.

Yogic fitness:Anyone can practice yoga, all you need is the desire for health and fulfilling lifestyle. Yogic fitness covers stretching, muscle toning and helps the joints, the spine and skeletal system. It not only helps improve your physical body but also benefits internal organs, glands and nervous system. Start by practicing yoga with some basic stretches, and progress to more advanced postures.

Tai chi:This graceful exercise gives you a gentle and relaxing workout. It is a series of postures that flow into each other without pause, making sure your body is in constant motion.

Qigong:This practice makes the body strong and supple, improving balance, stamina and flexibility. Qigong builds a stronger immune system so you become less susceptible to the flu and other viruses.

Hula-hooping:Exercises with a hoop develop coordination, flexibility, force, rhythm and artistry - and also burn superfluous fat. The body coordination and breathing strengthen the torso muscles and flexibility of the spine. It promotes the integral functions of our vital organs.

Holistic dance:It is one of the few exercises that combine almost all the dimensions of health and well-being and provides significant cardiovascular fitness and flexibility. It will help you balance mind, body, and soul while enjoying beautiful music and dancing.

As always, consult your doctor before starting a new exercise program. But once you start and maintain any of the recommended exercises, you will see and feel the changes within weeks.
