The curtain came up on Hong Kong singer Eason Chan's hotly anticipated concert at Beijing Workers' Gymnasium on Thursday, suhu.com reports.

Although the previous 18 gigs in Hong Kong had weakened his throat, Eason still sent Beijing fans wild with his passionate and heartfelt performance. He sang almost 20 classic songs, including "King of Karaoke", "Your Backpack", "Ten Years" and "Coxcombry" (Fu Kua).

During the concert, Eason demonstrated his many characteristics. When singing the song "Long Time No See" (Hao Jiu Bu Jian), he was so touched that he began to cry and was seen wiping away tears. Later, however, he showed his sense of humour by displaying some of Bruce Lee's classic moves and imitating Andy Lau's voice when talking with fans. He even went so far as to imitate the sound of a dolphin, pig and horse.

Eason will hold two concerts in Beijing, the second of which will be held this Friday.
