Culture exhibition

The first ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) Culture and Art Festival will be held in Beijing from Sept 2-8, after the 7th Asia-Europe Meeting held in Beijing last October.

An important event at the festival, The Book and Audio-Visual Exhibition, will be held at the Culture Palace of the Nationalities from Sept 5-8. The exhibition area will be divided into four exhibition halls, which are Host Country Hall (China Hall), Asia-Europe Hall, Comic and Animation Hall and Chinese Book Hall.

The exhibition will display some 66,000 books and audio-visual products from the 42 ASEM countries, covering a wide range of subjects including literature, arts (painting, photography, architecture design, music, Chinese opera and movie), philosophy, esthetics, history, geography, education and linguistics. The festival will also present a series of cultural and art activities such as performances and culture seminars.
