All participants agreed that governmental project management plays a vital role in successful implementation of the economic stimulus plans. 2009 is the critical year for the implementation and execution of the ambitious 4 trillion economic stimulus package announced by Chinese government November 2008. It becomes a focus issue of whole society that whether relevant plans and key projects could be effectively implemented and achieve expected objectives. 2009 PMI Project Management Government Forum is aiming at giving answer to this question with perspective of project management. Guests of the forum include Representatives from National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Civil Affairs, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, and other academic institutions as well as representatives and scholars from other countries participated this forum and conducted in-depth discussion on government project management. “Governmental project management becomes particular critical in the current economic situation, and bears the economic future of one nation or even a region.
