Over 100 works of art on show at Macao exhibition

The 2009 Macao Annual Art Exhibition is now open and features more than 100 artworks by various artists.

Its inauguration at Macao's Tap Seac Gallery was marked by the announcement of the top ten pieces that exemplified the theme "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow", according to the Macao Daily Times.

This is the seventh edition of the annual exhibition held by the Special Administrative Region's Cultural Affairs Bureau. This year's theme was specially picked to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China and the 10th anniversary of Macao's return to China.

The organizers said they had picked 152 pieces by 99 artists from the 650 artworks by 262 artists that they received.

The exhibition will be on till Aug 16, with a short break between July 6 and July 9.
