Events held nationwide to support needy youngsters
Beijing
On Saturday, music reality show Music Master Class and the China Children and Teenagers' Foundation established an art education fund dedicated to teaching left-behind children the beauty of music. A charity concert for the children will be staged at the Great Hall of the People on Friday.
Guizhou
On July 19, the China Red Cross Foundation and International Youth Group launched a cultural exchange summer camp for left-behind children in Xiaoba town. Thirteen international volunteers and 13 domestic volunteers were invited to join the event.
Hunan
On July 18, government officials in Zhuzhou initiated charity dance classes for left-behind children at the city's cultural center. Thirty children aged between 6 and 13 will receive free dance training throughout the summer.
Zhangjiajie city will hold its first stamp collecting summer camp in Beijing on Aug 2, in which 20 left-behind children will visit tourist attractions in the capital.
Zhejiang
On July 16, more than 100 pieces of art were displayed at the "Firefly Project" charity auction for left-behind children. Organized by Hangzhou Daily Newspaper Group, the event's purpose was to encourage left-behind children to participate in art and cultural events.
Sichuan
On Saturday, "Cherry Blossom House" opened in Chongzhou city. It served as a safe space for left-behind children to learn and play with adult supervision. The program is meant to lift the spirit of left-behind children and provide better services for them.
Anhui
On July 20, a village committee from Hefei invited medical staff members to teach local left-behind children about drowning and emergency prevention.
