Giada shows new collection in Milan
Italian luxury brand Giada recently showed its spring/summer 2016 collection at Milan Fashion Week. The collection is inspired by the work of artists such as Agnes Martin, Christian Liaigre and Ignacio Uriarte. It highlights clean silhouettes, uses materials like bonded cashmere, leather, silk viscose knit and organza, and highlights sophisticated craftsmanship. The palette runs from white, off-white and apricot to gray. This is the second collection that Gabriele Colangelo, one of the most promising young Italian designers, has created for Giada. The brand has a strong presence in China with more than 50 stores.
Harper's Bazaar China held its 2015 Bazaar Star Charity Night recently. Dozens of A-list celebrities, business leaders and socialites took part in the auction event. More than 41.7 million yuan ($6.5 million) was raised this year. The money will be used to provide ambulances in remote areas in China. The project has so far provided 429 ambulances to more than 240 poor counties, serving more than 400,000 patients every year, the magazine says. The annual event that has raised 260 million yuan until last year.
Chinese fashion giant Trendy International Group recently announced that it would tie up with British company Supergroup to bring the fast fashion brand Superdry to China. The two companies will invest a total of 18 million pounds ($28 million) in the joint venture. Trendy International Group has brands like Miss Sixty, Energie, Ochirly and Trendiano. It has more than 3,000 retail stores in China. The company will be responsible for managing Superdry in China while Supergroup will give guidance on global brand promotion.
