Past leaps into the future with Jaguar's game changing XE
Jaguar, a leading name in luxury cars, has once again demonstrated its brand spirit, "Never Stop Achieving", to Chinese consumers with the unveiling of the XE, the first four-door sports car to be derived from the F-TYPE.
Journalists from across China joined car owners, potential buyers and dealers to witness the sports saloon's stunning China debut at the Guangzhou auto show.
Dubbed "The Game Changer," the Jaguar XE is the first model to be developed using Jaguar Land Rover's new modular vehicle architecture, the so-called Intelligent Aluminum Architecture, or IAA, and is the only vehicle in its class to feature an aluminum-intensive monocoque, demonstrating the brand's readiness to embrace the new as well as build on its past .

"The Jaguar XE is an exciting development for Jaguar and its grand debut in China reaffirms our commitment to bringing Chinese customers a diversified product line up," said May Che, executive vice-president of Jaguar China.
"The model represents Jaguar's mission to be a 'Game Changer', not only through cutting-edge technology that outshines our competitors in the midsize segment, but also the brand's willingness to embrace change and to make it happen," she said.
A true driver's car, the rear-wheel drive Jaguar XE redefines the concept of the sports saloon thanks to its advanced lightweight construction, streamlined styling, luxurious interior, outstanding ride quality and handling.
The lightest and most rigid Jaguar ever made, the aerodynamic XE offers a dynamic driving experience.
"The XE has all the trademarks of a Jaguar - pure form, beautiful lines, and a sporting silhouette - while still meeting the day-to-day demands of a car in this segment. It bears a strong family resemblance to the F-TYPE and promises to excite the senses of a new generation of Jaguar owners. Jaguar invented the sports saloon over 50 years ago, now we are truly back," said Ian Callum, Jaguar director of design.
The new XE shows Jaguar's unrivalled expertise working with aluminum. The model features an aluminum-intensive monocoque, which is immensely strong and achieves extremely high levels of torsional rigidity.
It also allowed the designers and engineers to incorporate a double wishbone front suspension and the cab-rearward stance that give the XE its low, sporty driving position and sleek, coupe-like profile.
"We are dedicated to bringing customers the best in terms of driving excellence by means of a better drive, a better look and better value. The XE is unmatched in this respect," said Nick Miller, Jaguar vehicle program director.
The XE will go on sale in 2015, with the high-performance S model topping the range.
It is the first car in the world to be equipped with All Surface Progress Control, which behaves like a low-speed cruise control to deliver optimum traction; the result of decades of Jaguar Land Rover experience in off-road traction systems. It is also the first Jaguar ever to feature electric power steering, a system that offers exceptional responsiveness and control while consuming less energy than hydraulic systems.
The all-new InControl infotainment system featuring the latest technologies, seamlessly connects the car, the driver and the outside world.
"We believe that the Jaguar XE's coup-like profile, compelling design and advanced technology will make the XE a real game changer in China's midsized luxury sports sedan market segment. Most importantly, the XE will resonate with Chinese consumers who take delight in embracing change," said Che.
This game changing model symbolizes Jaguar's vision and courage to embrace change.
