BUCHAREST - A key focus of the visit to China would be efforts to enhance economic cooperation with the country, said Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc at airport before taking off for China on Wednesday.

"Our goal is to forge solid partnerships, sustainable development projects and obtain concrete, mutually beneficial results for both countries," said the prime minister, stressing that Romania and China have always worked together on political and economic ground.

"Through this visit we want to take commercial exchanges in both directions and economic cooperation to a higher level, through concrete and pragmatic projects," added Boc.

The Romanian prime minister is expected to meet in Shenzhen with Chinese President Hu Jintao and attend the opening of the 2011 Summer Universiade, in which Romania has sent 60 athletes competing in nine disciplines.

Boc would then head for Beijing to hold official talks with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

Apart from the top-level meetings, he will attend a Romanian-Chinese economic forum featuring several important companies from both countries.
