FUZHOU - Chinese marine rescuers are searching for two missing sailors who took a life raft to escape from a declining Cambodian cargo ship after the vessel collided with a fishing boat on the waters off East China's Fujian province.

The marine rescue department in Zhangzhou city, Fujian, said one of the two missing crew is a Myanmar national and the other is a Chinese.

Fifteen crew were on board the Combodian-registered vessel loaded with 5,000 metric tons of marble when the accident happened at about 4 am Tuesday. Thirteen of them took three life rafts to escape.

Marine rescuers have found 13 sailors including two left on the declining vessel by 9:30 am. They are still searching for the two on the raft.

The fishing boat fled the scene after the accident. The cargo vessel has run aground on waters near Zhangzhou, said marine rescuers.
