Eighty primary school students were asked to ditch fizzy beverages for boiled water during games to promote healthy drinking on Monday.
The "drinking healthily to be healthy" event was organized by John Tung Foundation (JTF) from Taiwan and The George Institute for Global Health in China. It was one of the sample collaborations between the Taiwanese and the mainland’s non-governmental institutions.
Research conducted by JTF discovered more than half of the kids have high blood lipids and drinking a fizzy or sweet beverage is the major reason rather than eating western-style fast-food.
