Zhang Qi (L), 25, lives in a "capsule hotel" in Liulangzhuang, Haidian District, Beijing. Her next-door neighbor is a journalist who wants to experience the "capsule hotel" life. The room is a very small space only big enough to accommodate a single bed. It was designed and built by 78-year-old retiree Huang Rixin for youths in Beijing who want to take advantage of the cheap rent of 200 yuan ($14.65) per month, which attracted mainly recent college graduates like Zhang Qi, the first tenant of the hotel, and migrant workers.
