HONG KONGĀ - Hong Kong's total port cargo throughput rose to 67.8 million tons in the third quarter, up 5 percent over a year earlier, the city's Census and Statistics Department announced Tuesday.
According to the statistics, inward and outward port cargo rose 8 percent and 2 percent to 39.1 million tons and 28.7 million tons respectively.
Within port cargo, seaborne cargo increased 8 percent over a year earlier to 46.6 million tons, while river cargo recorded virtually no change at 21.2 million tons in the third quarter.
