120 companies dissolved in Macao in Q3

MACAO - Macao saw a total of 120 companies in dissolution in the third quarter of 2010, with the value of registered capital amounting to 10 million patacas ($1.25 million), according to the figures released on Monday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).

Of these companies, 31 operated in wholesale and retail sector, while 21 were engaged in real estate activities and construction in the period, the figures indicated.

Meanwhile, some 782 new companies were incorporated in the third quarter this year, increasing by 20.1 percent year-on-year, with the total value of registered capital surging by 1.8 times to $206 million patacas.

Among the new incorporations, 25 were operating in financial services, 312 in wholesale and retail, 123 in business services and 92 in real estate.

Analyzed by place of residence of the shareholders, 473 new companies were established solely by Macao shareholders, and 100 were joint ventures between shareholders from Macao and other countries or regions, according to the DSEC.
