Brokers' income slides amid stock slump in H1

Net income in the securities sector in the first half of this year slid 33.1 percent from a year ago, the Century Weekly reported Monday, citing statistics released by the Securities Association of China.

In the first six months of this year, the capital in the securities brokers sector decreased by 47.01 percent on weighted-average amid the downward adjustment of the A-share market when the CSI 300 Index dropped 27.51 percent.

As of July 20, a total of 57 securities brokers released their semiannual reports. Among which, only nine companies reported a positive growth in net income. Among the other 48 brokers, four of them even reported a loss in net income.
