1987

Lang Ping moved to the US to study and served as an assistant coach at the University of New Mexico after retirement.

1988

She got the Master’s Degree in the physical education administration department at the University of New Mexico.

1990

She returned to China to lead the national team at the world championships and won the runner-up place.

1992

She got a green card in the United States but remained as a Chinese.

February 15, 1995

Lang Ping became the head coach of China’s women’s team.

1995

She led the women’s team to the third place at the World Cup tournament.

1996

She guided the squad to the silver at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

1998

The team won the second place at the World Championships and gold medal at the Asian Games.

1999

She resigned due to health problem.

1999

Lang Ping went to coach in Italy.

May 2002

She guided the Modena Club women's team to the champion of Italian Women's Volleyball League.

2004

The Asystel Novara club won the title of Italian Women's Volleyball League under her coaching.

2005

Lang Ping became the coach of the US national team to prepare for the 2008 Olympics.

August of 2008

She guided the team to the Beijing Olympics, where the US defeated China 3-2 at group stage and eventually won the silver.
