My heart breaks at the sheer numbers of people dead, injured, and homeless. May the Lord watch over them and help them to rebuild their lives once again. People today are somewhat immune to actual disaster until it becomes a true reality, as this did. Only then, do they remember what it is like to be human to each other and kind, helping each other, no matter one's origin. May the lessons of heroism and kindness flowing through humanity endure long past this experience.
As for the rest of the world, I am also here seven years and love China and her people dearly. I see a brave, enduring, evolving people. Her leadership is caring overall and responsible. The Premier is a wonderful, warm-hearted man. People should come here and learn about this great country and her people, instead of finding fault with everything. Praise the bravery of the victims and their families. Give hope, not pain, to the Chinese people. People need love at times like this, not criticism.
中华民族勇敢、坚韧、不断进取
我为在地震中不幸遇难、受伤和无家可归的人感到心痛。愿上帝保佑他们开始新生活。现在的人们只有在灾难真正降临时，才认识到它的危害，这次地震就是一个例子。只有到这个时候，人们才想起，无论是什么民族，人类之间应该友善、互助。希望这次地震后，人们能保持人性的善良和英雄品质。

I am a German and have been a member of the German-Chinese Friendship association since the late Seventies. I have 2 sponsorships for chinese pupils in Shanghai and Shandong and naturally I donated to 2 funds in Germany who will support the victims in China (Oxfam and Caritas international) I know that the German Red Cross will be sending a coplete mobile hospital to Sichuan which can treat 30 patients in beds and tenhousends of other patients. Many newspapers give reports on the earthquake and publish adresses wwhere people can make a donation for china. So please believe me: you have many friends in Germany and I am sure expats in China will donate too or help in other ways. What counts is friendship between many people in Germany and China.

我是德国人，从上世纪70年代起，就是德中友好协会的成员。我参加了两个资助项目，帮助上海和山东的一些学生；给两个德国基金会（牛津饥荒救济委员会和国际慈善社）捐款帮助中国灾民。我知道德国红十字会将派一个有30个床位的移动医院援助四川，帮助很多伤员。许多报纸都报道了这次地震，并公布了向中国捐款的地址。所以请相信我，你们有很多德国朋友。而且我相信在中国的德国公民也会捐款，或用其它方式援助灾区。德中两国人民的友谊是珍贵的。

Today at 2:28 in Shanghai. That was amazing. The whole city stopped moving for 3 minutes from my office I could see all cars stopped, all pedestrians stopped, people coming to the windows in their apartments. Super cool. I have never seen something like that before.
Absolutely amazing. Everyone showing support. Super powerful, it made me feel amazed by China.

Canada should do more to help aid the people in Si Chuan China. Send special teams to China who are specialist in emergency situations. Make a public address of support. Donate special equipment to the area. Donate more funds. More needs to be done.

加拿大应该为四川提供更多援助：派紧急情况处理专家到中国，公开表示支持，捐助特殊设备，捐助更多资金。总之，应该提供更多援助。
