Chinese people deserve praise for their achievements

On this important day, when Chinese people celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Founding of PRC, I would like to express my warm congratulations and the congratulations of my country, as well.

Chinese People deserve praise for their achievements up to now, and I wish them to continue in the path of peace, stability and welfare.

China’s efforts to build a harmonious society at the same time cover a wide range of activities and initiatives in the international field. China shows the will and has the potential to contribute to the solution of major issues of the international community, such as the economic recovery, the climate change, world peace and welfare.

As far as our bilateral relations are concerned, we are glad to say that they are excellent. In addition, we should not forget that our people spring from ancient civilizations, that contributed significantly to the progress of the humanity through the ages.

The solid political, economic, commercial, cultural, educational, maritime, investments and tourism cooperation is reflected upon the Strategic Partnership Relations Agreement, signed by Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis, and his Chinese counterpart, Mr. Wen Jiabao, since January 2006.

The sincere friendship between our two countries constitutes the frame for the further development of our bilateral relations for the mutual benefit.

At the same time, Greece strives for the enhancement of the Sino – EU relations.

I am convinced that our dynamic relations and friendly ties will continue to improve and get even stronger. The two countries have a great past, they enjoy a creative present, but mostly, they draw a very promising future.
