Forum in Beijing to be most successful one
[ 2005-05-16 09:17:24]

"The 2005 Fortune Global Forum in Beijing will be the most successful one so far," Robert Bierman, president of Conference Division of Fortune Magazine said Sunday.

China's economy is full of vigor and vitality, which shows fully the integration of ancient civilization and modern business mood, he said. Beijing is now one of the most exciting cities in the world.

Bierman said two special round table conferences will be included into the agenda, involving culture and sports theme.

Up to date, chief executives of nearly 80 firms listed in the Fortune top 500s will attend the forum, with the total number of its delegates reaching 847 on Sunday, a record high in the forum'shistory.

The forum will demonstrate still better China's reform and opening-up policy, and the tremendous progress the country had scored in the past decades. The forum will also help enhance the resolve and confidence of multinational companies in China, said Jiang Weiqiang, a senior official of State Information Office.

The organizer will provide first-class accommodation for attendees of the forum. More than 150 special cars will be put into use, with some 170 drivers assigned at their service, who have undergone special training.

By Monday, at least 24 business jets will have arrived at Beijing airport, said Wang Hui, director of Beijing Information Office.

First-class medical workers and staff will be provided by the organizer. A public security department has also been set up, to deal with any possible emergencies.

Moreover, 125 ladies will accompany their husbands to the incoming forum, and the organizer has arranged programs special for them, including visit to the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Palace Museum as well as attending Chinese shadow boxing, Beijing opera and other traditional Chinese theatrical performances.
